Bookshop Without Borders is an author-centered online bookstore.  We don't try to sell every book on the market or even on the bestseller list.  We do however promote and support authors who are self published or published through smaller presses.  We try to give you an opportunity to get to know the authors much as you would during a brief chat with them at an actual author signing. Some authors allow us to provide a website link or an email address where you can contact them directly with questions, comments, and requests.  We ask that you use those email addresses respectfully. 

The book industry is changing and authors are having to change with it.  Fewer big bookstore chains are doing author signings than in the past, and there are fewer locations of the bookstore chains who have been so supportive of local authors, allowing them to do frequent in-store author events.  Many independent bookstores still do local author events, and we encourage you to support these stores and their events whenever possible.  They need your help to keep their doors open.   

The first chapters are available for some authors' books.  Please note that this information is copyrighted and therefore is subject to copyright laws.  You may not copy or alter these samples using any means.  If you wish to quote from these samples beyond a sentence or two, you will need to obtain prior written and legally witnessed permission from the author whose work you wish to quote at length.  You may distribute the chapters included in this site, via electronic or printed means, as long as you refrain from doing it for any sort of personal gain, either monetary or professional.
